An Amyloid Staining Kit allows for the histological detection of ferric iron in tissues, blood and bone marrow smears.
This kit is comparable to Perl's Technique and Gomori's Iron reaction for staining ferric iron, but with the added benefit of being less hazardous due to using a lower strengh Hydrocholoric Acid and Potassium Ferrocyanide.
Prussian Blue Solution serves as the primary stain resulting in blue ferric iron agasinst a pink-to-red nuclei background using a Nuclear Fast Red counterstain. Filtration is not required for the Nuclear Fast Red Solution due to its enhanced stability.
Each Kit Contains:
- Potassium Ferrocyanide Solution
- Hydrochloric Acid Solution (2%)
- Nuclear Fast Red Solution
